In light of some of the most recent events not just in The United States of America, but all around the world; I thought this would be a good time to reflect upon COMPASSION & PATIENCE.
Patience is deciding to go the speed of the other person and not oneself and Compassion is to have a real deep and genuine concern for others well-being. I believe that compassion and patience is the two most important “keys” missing in our society right now. All the violence and selfishness going on is directly related to the lack ok of compassion and patience, we are living in a merit based world , where what you can archive is more important then you character and who you are as a human being. Having compassion and patience doesn't mean you have to agree with everyone and allow people to walk all over you, but it should determine how you react towards people who think and feel differently from you... Compassion and patience means acknowledge to where that person is coming from and to place value on their feels, whether or not you feel the same way. Just because something does not affect you or is out of you wheelhouse does not mine you have the right to devalue someone else feeling. Compassion and patience are not traits we are just born with, they need to taught and practiced. So below I have listed some everyday practical ways of learning how to bring forth your compassion and patience.

1.Have a support team, keep good company.
Surround yourself with people who love you unconditionally. The best way to learn is to see and feel it. Remember to not mistake love with people who tell you yes all the time…real love is honest and tough sometimes.
2. Step out of your comfort zone, out of your “Wheelhouse”
Try your best to relate to the person, feel their pain.Their pain may be something you have never personal experienced, but we all have felt some kind of pain.
3. Listen! Just listen
Don’t listen with the intent to speak, listen with the intent to actually listen and understand.
4. Kindness…Practices makes perfect.
Go out of your way to be kind, seek out opportunities to show kindness.
5. Yourself
Have compassion and patience with yourself and forgive yourself for your mistakes.
6. Your words
Last, but not least think about your words before you just let them slip. Think long and hard.
To end, just remember that compassion and patience helps to build up empathy and empathy is the only thing that with destroy selfishness and sadness…which I believe causes most of the violence in the world.
Just my confessions,
Nikki
